Facing the arts

As the sun is setting in Valencia the City of Arts and Sciences (Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències) becomes extraordinary. Designed by the Valencian architect Calatrava, El Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in the back and L'Hemisfèric in the front are reflected in the motionless water, flanked by the sculpture of a face.

In the pond near El Museu de les Ciències Príncipe Felipe several sculptures create a beautiful scenery and magnificent reflections in the water.

Images reflect

On a quiet autumn evening, almost no wind at all, the water in front of the Museo de las Cièncias Príncipe Felipe is like a mirror, reflecting the entire building and the sculptures in the water.

Game of....cards

Catches the eye

At the back of the Museo de las Ciencias Príncipe Felipe the reflection of the structure in the water creates an eye like image. Although in a picture it is hard to see the dimension, the glimps of the person on the right gives you an pretty good idea of how huge it is.

Three stories

The science museum is a three story building with each 8000 m2 of exhibition space. The museum is an interactive expierence with several aspects of science.

Night at the opera

This opera house and performing arts center is designed by Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela and has four large rooms: a Main Room, Magisterial Classroom, Amphitheater and Theater of Camera.

Water under the bridge

The eye is deceived as it seems that the Assut de l'Or bridge (Dam of the Gold bridge) is reflected by the water underneath it. Truth is the water is only in front of it, underneath the bridge the pavement leads you to the Agora, that can been seen in the background.

Science at sunset

Rear entrance of Museo de las Ciencias Príncipe Felipe. This museum is an interactive science museum. The slogan of the museum is “it is forbidden not to touch, not to feel and not to think ”, because they would like you to get acquainted with new technology and the human body in an interactive way. The water in front of the museum makes for a great reflection.
